Choosing flooring for a project starts with the use case, not a single headline specification. A distributor or contractor needs to match the floor construction and documented performance to the project brief. Define the project and its constraints
Record the space type, expected use, substrate, cleaning regime, installation schedule and design brief. Identify mandatory local standards and any client requirements for emissions, fire classification, slip resistance or other performance. Ask for the test report that supports each requirement for the exact product proposed.
Separate product constructions

Width can affect the number and position of seams; the installation plan also depends on room geometry and the manufacturer’s guidance. Ask about substrate preparation, adhesives, welding or edge details where relevant to the project. These details should be agreed before placing an order.
Review samples and documentation
Obtain a physical sample or color card for visual approval. Request the current technical sheet, applicable test reports, installation guide and maintenance instructions. If a project calls for a certificate or rating, check its scope, date and product identification. A general brand-level statement is not a substitute for evidence about the specific flooring.
Prepare a useful supplier inquiry
Share the application, project area, delivery market, target dimensions, design preferences, estimated order volume and required documents. Ask the supplier to confirm the available specification, packaging, samples, OEM or private label options, minimum order and lead time for that product.
